Giovanni Trapattoni today named five new international players in the Republic of Ireland team to play Nigeria at Craven Cottage, London, in a friendly match tomorrow. Shay Given reported fully recovered from a hip injury to play in goal and Coventry City's Keiren Westwood is expected to bring the number of new internationals to at least six in the course of the match

Leah Victoria Park home to Tullamore Town FC will host the EA Sports FAI Schools 5 A Side National Finals tomorrow (Weds) between 12pm - 3.30pm. More than 15,000 children from all over Ireland participated in this, the biggest and best competition in the 2009 Primary Schools Soccer Calendar.

The 3rd round draw for the 2009 FAI Ford Challenge Cup took place today (Monday) at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin 4. Assisting with the draw was FAI President, David Blood and former Republic of Ireland international, Frank Stapleton. Tralee Dynamos continue their fantastic run in the competition at home to Salthill Devon while Crumlin united host Shelbourne in an-all Dublin affair.
